Charging is faster too. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50% in around 15 minutes using wired charging, while the Pro Max benefits from its larger battery and improved power efficiency. On eSIM-only models, the additional internal space allows an even larger battery, with Apple quoting up to 45 hours of video playback on the 18 Pro Max.

AI Finally Becomes a Bigger Part of the iPhone Experience

The iPhone 17 Pro Max already supported Apple's Intelligence features, but the iPhone 18 Pro generation moves further toward Apple's vision of an AI-powered personal device. The phones ship with iOS 27 and introduce the new Siri AI in beta, designed to understand personal context, work with information across apps and interact with what is currently on the screen.

The A20 Pro's Neural Engine has also been upgraded for heavier on-device AI workloads. Apple says the new chip has double the AI processing capability of the A19 Pro, giving the company more headroom for computational photography and future AI features.
