Trump Scraps the White House Tech Panel Meeting With Huang and Zuckerberg

The Trump administration canceled a meeting on Friday of a White House tech panel that includes Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, an Energy Department spokesperson said.

The meeting was to convene the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, an outside panel that advises President Trump on science and technology policy. Its members also include AMD CEO Lisa Su, Oracle CTO Larry Ellison and Marc Andreessen, co-founder of Andreessen Horowitz.

The panel is co-chaired by venture capitalist David Sacks and White House tech adviser Michael Kratsios. It was to advise Trump's new AI task force, dubbed the "Super Intelligence Task Force," which includes cabinet officials, Trump appointees and White House staff.

The Energy Department's meeting website briefly listed November 13 as the new date for the panel meeting, but the agency later sent an email retracting that date. It is not clear when, or whether, the meeting will be rescheduled.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about why the meeting was postponed. A White House official told the Washington Examiner that the meeting was postponed due to a scheduling conflict.

The cancellation came a day after technology shares sold off dramatically on Thursday, amid concerns that a new Congress will slow AI development and that massive AI capital spending will not yield sufficient returns. The Nasdaq fell 5.5% in its worst day since the tariff rout of 2025.

Whether the panel meets again soon matters, because it is one of the few formal channels through which the heads of America's biggest technology companies advise the president directly on AI policy.
