The iPhone Duo's 14-Day Return Window Has Now Closed
If you bought an iPhone Duo on launch day and were thinking of sending it back, that option is gone. The 14-day return window for launch-day buyers expired on Friday, November 6, under Apple's standard return policy.
The Duo went on sale on October 23, Apple's first foldable iPhone and its most expensive phone ever at $2,499. Buyers who picked one up on day one had two weeks to change their minds. That window has now closed for the earliest buyers, though anyone who bought later still has 14 days from their own purchase date.
A decision point for early buyers
The deadline mattered more than usual for the Duo. Some early owners have reported that the foldable's display is cracking near the hinge, and Apple has been replacing affected units. Others have faced long waits: supply is so tight that Apple has told some customers there is no timeline for when new stock will arrive, with some orders not expected until January 2027.
For buyers weighing whether to keep the phone, the end of the return window removes the safety net. From here on, problems with the device go through Apple's warranty and repair channels rather than a straightforward return — though a cracking display is a warranty issue in any case, and Apple has been replacing those units.
Standard policy, unusual phone
Apple's 14-day return policy is the same for every product, and the Duo is no exception. What is unusual is how much can change in those two weeks for a first-generation product: the display-cracking reports, the supply shortage and the software updates in iOS 27.3 all arrived within the return window for the earliest buyers. Those who kept the phone past November 6 have, in effect, voted for the foldable.
