Galaxy S27 Pro May Skip the Top Snapdragon Chip, New Listing Suggests
A new database listing suggests the Galaxy S27 Pro will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 instead of the more powerful Extreme version reserved for the Ultra, while the base models may run Samsung's own Exynos 2700.
Galaxy S27 Pro May Skip the Top Snapdragon Chip, New Listing Suggests
Samsung's next flagship line is starting to split into clear tiers, at least on paper. A fresh database listing for the European Galaxy S27 models points to different chips for different phones, and the Pro may not get the very best one.
The listing, spotted in the NBD database, puts the Galaxy S27 Pro on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. That is a step below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, which the same listing ties to the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The regular Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27 Plus, meanwhile, are shown with Samsung's own Exynos 2700.
None of this is confirmed. It is a single database entry, it covers the European models only, and Samsung has said nothing about the S27 range. Chip plans for other regions could look different, and the final hardware can still change before launch. But if the split holds, the Pro would sit in an unusual middle ground: a Snapdragon phone, yet not the top Snapdragon phone in its own family.
