Agile Robots Targets Up to 2,000 Humanoids in 2027 With Nvidia

Germany’s Agile Robots plans to produce between 1,000 and 2,000 small humanoid robots next year in collaboration with Nvidia, chief executive Zhaopeng Chen told Reuters. Production is due to begin late this year.

Europe’s engineering base draws Nvidia’s attention

Speaking at Nvidia’s GTC conference in Berlin, CEO Jensen Huang argued that Europe’s expertise in mechatronics, electronics and mechanical systems could give the region an advantage in physical AI. He urged European companies to produce AI rather than only consume it as Nvidia promotes its chips and software for robotic systems.

Nvidia said it has committed nearly $10 billion to Europe’s technology ecosystem. That is the company’s stated commitment, not an announcement that the entire amount has already been spent.

A reference humanoid is planned for early 2027

In a separate announcement at GTC Berlin, Agile Robots introduced Agile ONE SN, a reference humanoid platform built on Nvidia Isaac GR00T and powered by the Jetson Thor edge-AI system.

Nvidia describes the research and development platform as 1.40 metres tall, weighing 40 kilograms and offering 31 degrees of freedom. Availability is scheduled for early 2027.

The platform gives robotics researchers a shared hardware and software starting point, while Nvidia’s wider Isaac expansion includes simulation, learning and runtime tools intended to shorten the path from training to deployment. The production volume Chen outlined remains a target, rather than a report of completed shipments.
