OPPO K15s and K15x Arrive With Huge Batteries, 120Hz Screens and Rugged Protection

OPPO has expanded its K15 smartphone lineup in China with two new models aimed at users who care more about battery endurance, durability and everyday usability than flagship-level specifications. The new OPPO K15s and OPPO K15x take noticeably different approaches to the same basic idea: deliver long battery life and a smooth 120Hz display without moving into flagship pricing.

The K15s is the more feature-rich model, built around an enormous 8,000mAh battery, a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and MediaTek's Dimensity 6360 Max chipset. The K15x takes a more affordable route with a larger 6.75-inch LCD panel, a 6,500mAh battery and Dimensity 6300 processor. Both phones support 45W charging and come with up to 256GB of storage. The two models officially went on sale in China on September 30, 2026.

OPPO K15s Leads the New Pair With an 8,000mAh Battery

The K15s is clearly designed around endurance. Its 8,000mAh battery is rated at 7,820mAh, and OPPO says the battery is designed to retain at least 80 percent of its capacity after more than 2,000 charging cycles under the company's stated testing conditions. OPPO's testing model corresponds to roughly one complete cycle every 1.3 days over a simulated period of about seven years.

Charging is handled by 45W SuperVOOC, with support for UFCS as well. That combination gives the K15s a much larger power reserve than the batteries commonly found in conventional mid-range phones. For people who spend long periods away from a charger, that could be more important than having a faster processor.

The K15s also places considerable emphasis on durability. It carries IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 protection ratings and has reportedly passed 15 military-grade environmental tests under the GJB150A-2009 standard. OPPO is therefore positioning the phone not simply as a high-capacity battery device, but as a handset designed to cope with harsher everyday environments.

A 120Hz AMOLED Display Gives the K15s a More Premium Feel

The display is another major difference between the two models. The K15s features a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 2372 × 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness, 1.07 billion colors and full DCI-P3 coverage.

OPPO also lists a high instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 1,000Hz, which is particularly relevant for games and applications that benefit from faster touch response. The combination of AMOLED technology, FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate makes the K15s considerably more display-focused than the cheaper K15x.

Dimensity 6360 Max Handles the K15s

Performance comes from MediaTek's Dimensity 6360 Max, paired with LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage. OPPO has also equipped the handset with a 4,300mm² VC cooling system to help manage heat during sustained workloads.

This is not a flagship gaming chipset, and that distinction is important when evaluating the phone. The K15s is better understood as a long-lasting mid-range smartphone rather than a performance-first device. For social media, video streaming, browsing, photography, communication and everyday multitasking, the hardware should be comfortably positioned for its class.

The phone is offered with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in the base configuration, while the higher version combines 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It runs ColorOS based on Android 16.

50MP Camera Keeps the K15s Focused on Everyday Photography

The rear camera setup on the K15s is headed by a 50MP autofocus main camera. The camera can record 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second, while slow-motion recording is also available at 720p and 120fps.

An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The camera system is not positioned as a flagship photography platform, but the 50MP main sensor and autofocus system should give the K15s enough flexibility for normal photography, social media and everyday video recording.

OPPO K15x Takes the Budget-Friendly Route

The K15x shares the K15s's focus on battery life and smooth scrolling but makes several hardware compromises to reach a lower price.

It features a larger 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 1570 × 720 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach up to 1,125 nits of peak brightness and supports up to 240Hz touch sampling.

The 120Hz refresh rate should keep scrolling and animations smooth, but the lower HD+ resolution and LCD technology mean the K15x does not offer the same display experience as the K15s's FHD+ AMOLED panel. That difference is one of the clearest reasons to consider the two phones as separate tiers within the same lineup.

6,500mAh Battery and Dimensity 6300 Power the K15x

Inside the K15x is a 6,500mAh battery, rated at 6,335mAh, with 45W SuperVOOC and UFCS charging. Although it falls short of the K15s's enormous 8,000mAh capacity, 6,500mAh is still considerably larger than the battery capacity found in many mainstream smartphones.

The processor is MediaTek's Dimensity 6300, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The K15x is therefore designed more clearly as an affordable everyday smartphone, with battery capacity taking priority over high-end processing power.

The phone also retains features that some budget buyers still value, including a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage. It uses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor rather than the K15s's in-display optical scanner.

13MP Camera on the K15x

The camera hardware is another area where OPPO has reduced costs. The K15x uses a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

The rear camera supports 1080p video recording at up to 60fps, while 720p slow-motion video can reach 120fps. This setup is much simpler than the K15s, so buyers choosing between the two should not expect identical photography capabilities.

OPPO K15s vs K15x: Key Specifications

The differences between the phones become clearer when their specifications are placed side by side. The K15s gets the better AMOLED display, more powerful Dimensity 6360 Max chipset, 8,000mAh battery, 50MP camera and substantially stronger protection ratings. The K15x counters with a larger screen, 6,500mAh battery, headphone jack, expandable storage and a lower starting price.

The specifications show that OPPO has deliberately created a substantial separation between the two models rather than simply offering two phones with different screen sizes.

OPPO K15s and K15x Price in China

The OPPO K15s starts at 1,699 yuan for the 6GB+128GB version, while the 8GB+256GB configuration costs 1,999 yuan. The phone is available in Shadow Grey and Wind Trail Purple.

The OPPO K15x starts at 1,399 yuan for the 6GB+128GB version, while the 6GB+256GB model is priced at 1,699 yuan. Its available colors include Glacier White and Prism Purple.

OPPO also introduced launch promotions in China, including a limited-time reduction of 300 yuan during the promotional period running from September 30 through October 31, according to Chinese reporting.

There is currently no confirmed international launch or official Bangladesh price for either phone. As a result, Chinese pricing should not be treated as the final retail price in Bangladesh or other markets.

OPPO K15s and K15x Review: Which Approach Makes More Sense?

The K15s is the more complete device of the two. Its 8,000mAh battery, AMOLED display, higher-resolution screen, stronger processor, better camera and extensive water and environmental protection make it a considerably more capable package.

The K15x, however, is not simply a stripped-down version without a purpose. Its 6,500mAh battery and 120Hz display still target users who want long endurance without paying for the more advanced hardware of the K15s. The headphone jack and expandable storage may also matter to buyers who prefer traditional connectivity.

The biggest question for potential buyers is therefore not simply which phone has the larger battery. Both are built around endurance, but the K15s puts considerably more emphasis on display quality, durability and overall hardware capability, while the K15x concentrates on delivering the essentials at a lower price.

Final Take

With the K15s and K15x, OPPO is continuing a trend toward large-capacity batteries in mainstream smartphones. The K15s stands out particularly strongly with its 8,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED screen and multi-level durability protection, while the K15x offers a cheaper alternative with a still-large 6,500mAh battery and 120Hz refresh rate.

Neither phone is designed to compete directly with flagship devices on processing power or advanced camera systems. Instead, OPPO is betting that many users would rather have a phone that can stay powered for longer and survive demanding everyday use.

For the K15s, the combination of battery capacity, display and rugged protection gives the phone a distinctive identity in the mid-range market. The K15x takes the same philosophy and pushes it toward a lower price point, making the new pair an interesting addition to OPPO's expanding K-series lineup.
