vivo X500 Ultra Is Still on Track for March or April, Tipster Says
The vivo X500 Ultra is still on track to launch in March or April next year, according to tipster Digital Chat Station — even as rival Ultra phones face delays and cancellations.
Doubts had been raised about vivo's Ultra plans after Digital Chat Station recently said the Oppo Find X10 Ultra is on hold and might not launch, and Xiaomi had canceled the 18 Ultra. Despite that, the tipster says the vivo X500 Ultra is "currently undergoing normal refinement and is expected to launch in March or April next year."
That timeframe matches what vivo's own vice president of product said in September, when he confirmed the phone would arrive in March or April in China. The vivo executive also said it will offer a larger gap in camera performance than the X500 Pro Max.
Digital Chat Station also said the X500 Ultra may be the only Ultra phone in its category, and in a reply to a comment on their Weibo post said it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Rumored specifications include a 6.85-inch 144Hz 2K LTPO AMOLED display with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded in it, a 50MP primary camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a battery between 7,000 mAh and 8,000 mAh.
The vivo X300 Ultra was vivo's first Ultra smartphone to launch outside China, and the X500 Ultra is also expected to launch internationally after its China debut.
For now, the Ultra race is thinning out — and vivo looks set to be the last one standing in it.
