Apple Posts Record $114.5 Billion Quarter as iPhone Sales Jump 17%
Apple has reported its best September quarter ever, with revenue of $114.5 billion, record iPhone sales of $57.6 billion, and Mac revenue up 24 percent. New chief executive John Ternus hosted his first earnings call and forecast the biggest quarter in the company's history.
Apple reported the results for its fiscal fourth quarter of 2026 on Monday, November 2. Revenue rose 12 percent from a year earlier, net profit reached $30.7 billion, and earnings per share came in at $2.10, up 14 percent. For the full fiscal year, Apple took in about $479 billion, another record.
iPhone drives the quarter
The iPhone brought in $57.6 billion, up 17 percent year over year and a new record for a September quarter. The figure is striking because it covers only the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: Apple did not release a standard iPhone 18 this autumn, and its first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, only went on sale in October, after the quarter had ended. Its sales will show up in the current December quarter instead.
Mac has its best year ever
Mac revenue reached $10.8 billion in the quarter, up from $8.7 billion a year earlier, despite supply constraints. For the full fiscal year, Mac revenue was $37.9 billion, up from $33.7 billion in 2025. Ternus told analysts that Apple has never sold more Macs in a fiscal year than it did in 2026.
Services also set a record at $31.57 billion, covering the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music and subscriptions. iPad was the one weak spot, with revenue of $6.2 billion, down 10 percent from a year ago, as buyers waited for new models. Revenue in Greater China rose 21 percent, a quarterly record driven by the iPhone and the Mac. Apple said it now has more than 2.5 billion active devices in use.
Ternus takes his first earnings call
The call was the first for John Ternus since he took over as chief executive from Tim Cook on September 1. He told analysts that the iPhone Duo remains supply constrained and that Apple cannot yet say when supply and demand will balance. He also said Apple has no plans to merge iOS and macOS into a single operating system, even after launching its first touchscreen MacBook Pro.
Chief financial officer Kevan Parekh said Apple expects revenue to grow between 7 and 10 percent in the December quarter, which would make it the best quarter for revenue in the company's history. He warned that Mac and iPad will remain constrained in the quarter, mainly because memory demand has been higher than expected and memory costs keep climbing.
