Galaxy S26 Ultra Drops to $1,000 as Last Year's S25 Ultra Undercuts the New S26+
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is down to $1,000 in this week's US deals, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 also dropping $300 — and last year's Galaxy S25 Ultra is now undercutting the new S26+ on both price and camera.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB is now $1,000 at Walmart and Amazon US, $400 off and down from $1,105 last week, while the 512GB model is $1,150, $450 off. It has been seen as low as $950.
The Galaxy S26+ is unchanged from last week — 256GB at $810 ($390 off) and 512GB at $945 ($455 off). Its main selling point right now is simply its price.
But the more interesting comparison is with last year's Ultra. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is now $790 for 256GB and $880 for 512GB — cheaper than the new S26+ — and it has a better camera than the new Plus, with a 200MP 1/1.3-inch main sensor against the S26+'s 50MP 1/1.56-inch, two telephoto cameras against one, and a 50MP ultra-wide against 12MP. The trade-offs are the older Snapdragon 8 Elite against the Elite Gen 5, and a slightly larger, heavier body at 77.6mm wide and 218g against 75.8mm and 190g. As GSMArena puts it: an old Ultra is better than a new Plus.
The base Galaxy S26 actually went up in price against last week — 256GB at $750 ($250 off) and 512GB at $885 ($315 off) — so it is worth holding off on. The Galaxy S26 FE is $680 for 8/128GB ($20 off) and $700 for 8/256GB ($100 off), but it has 8GB of RAM against the S26+'s 12GB, an Exynos 2500 against the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a 1080p+ LTPS screen against 1440p+ LTPO.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is now $1,600 for 256GB and $1,800 for 512GB at Amazon US, $300 off and $100 less than last week. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is $1,750 for 12/256GB at Walmart, $350 off, and is worth considering for its size and cameras.
Google's foldable is also on sale: the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is $1,650 for 16GB/256GB, $1,770 for 512GB and $2,000 for 1TB at Amazon US, $250 off, though the Tensor G6 is not built for heavy-duty multitasking, so it is hard to recommend. Pixel 11 series prices are unchanged from last week: the Pixel 11 Pro XL is $950, $1,070 and $1,300; the Pixel 11 Pro is $800, $920 and $1,150; and the Pixel 11 is $700 and $820.
Prices are for US retailers as of November 7 and may change.
