Xiaomi 18 Could Still Launch This Year as 3C Listing Reveals 100W Charging
The standard Xiaomi 18 may still arrive this year after all, with a Chinese 3C certification listing pointing to a December launch and the same 100W wired charging as last year's model.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro series was announced in China in September, and Xiaomi confirmed the duo is going global by the end of this year. The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are expected to reach the global market as early as this month.
The vanilla Xiaomi 18, however, was left out of that conversation entirely, which stirred speculation that there would be no successor to the Xiaomi 17 this year.
A 3C listing suggests otherwise
A 3C certification listing suggests otherwise, in line with earlier rumors that the Xiaomi 18 will arrive at a later date, probably sometime in December — a timeframe that likely refers to the Chinese release.
The certification lists a Xiaomi smartphone believed to be the vanilla Xiaomi 18, with 100W fast wired charging — no change in charging power compared with last year's model.
What to expect from the Xiaomi 18
Earlier reports point to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset — not the Extreme version — a 200MP main camera and a 7,200 mAh battery.
The screen size remains a mystery and might not be the same as the previous generation, since this time the Xiaomi 18 Pro is the one with the compact dimensions, with a 6.4-inch display.
Since the vanilla 18 is tipped to have a battery 200 mAh larger than the 18 Pro's, it is probably safe to assume it will slot in between the Pro and the Pro Max in terms of size.
