Apple's iOS 27.3 Public Beta Is Out With a New Health App and a Smarter Siri
Anyone can now try Apple's biggest iPhone update since iOS 27 launched in September. The first iOS 27.3 public beta arrived on November 5, bringing back the redesigned Health app, new Safari features, a smarter Siri, and one-handed mode for the iPhone Duo.
Apple seeded the first developer beta on November 3 and opened the public beta two days later, alongside the first public betas of iPadOS 27.3, macOS Golden Gate 27.3, tvOS 27.3 and watchOS 27.3. The final public release is expected in December.
The Health app returns, redesigned
The biggest change is the redesigned Health app, which briefly appeared during iOS 27.2 testing but was pulled before the public release. It is back in 27.3, built around Apple Intelligence, with custom Insights, Longevity information and a Health Age feature that assesses your activity and health data. It will ship to all users with the final release next month.
Safari and Siri get smarter
Safari gains a Vertical Tabs layout that moves tabs into a sidebar, plus Adaptive Dark Mode for websites that have no dark theme of their own. Siri AI can now take action on tabs and windows — sorting, moving, closing and arranging them in Tab Groups — and control web history, including clearing history for a particular site or time period.
Siri also gains new actions across Apple's own apps. You can ask it to make and save a playlist, schedule an iMessage to send later, or create a Journal entry, among other tasks in Calendar, Music, Messages, Reminders and Weather. Apple is also opening Siri AI to all developers, so any app can connect to it through App Intents.
More for Duo, StandBy and Music
The update also makes the iPhone Duo easier to use with one hand, adding Reachability to the foldable phone, and expands the Duo's StandBy features to other iPhone models. StandBy itself gets refreshed analog and digital watch faces, plus new Calendar and Weather faces. Apple Music gains a Selfie Sing feature, and Apple Fitness+ adds Gym Strength, which creates personalised four-week workout plans based on your equipment and preferences.
On the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, the beta brings Audio Intelligence features called Live Rewind, which creates a transcript of the last 15 seconds of speech, and Siri Recap, which summarises conversations through the day.
