RedMagic Sets China-Only Android 17 Update Schedule for Phones and Tablets
RedMagic OS 12, based on Android 17, is scheduled for selected China-market phones and tablets from December 2026 through April 2027. Global dates remain unannounced.
RedMagic Sets China-Only Android 17 Update Schedule for Phones and Tablets
RedMagic has published a staged timetable for RedMagic OS 12, its Android 17-based software, covering several recent phones and gaming tablets. The announcement applies to China-market versions. No matching dates have been announced for global models.
Which devices update, and when?
The RedMagic 11 Pro and RedMagic 11S Pro series are first in line, with their updates planned for December 2026. The timetable identifies device series rather than promising that every unit will receive the software on the same day.
RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro follows in January 2027. A broader March 2027 wave covers the RedMagic 10 Pro and 10S Pro series, RedMagic 11 Air and RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro.
The RedMagic 10 Air is scheduled for April 2027. Owners should distinguish those 2027 dates from the first December 2026 wave rather than assume the entire rollout finishes this year.
Gaming tools and AI features
RedMagic OS 12 brings a redesigned interface with a large clock, an AI Magic Island and an assistant with a memory function. The company also describes one-tap file transfers that can work with Apple devices.
The redesigned Game Space adapts to each game's theme. An esports training area adds shooting and reaction mini-games, while X-Gravity 3.0 supports cloud gaming, console streaming and playing mobile games on a larger screen.
Global owners still need a local announcement
The China timetable is not a release promise for phones sold in India, the US, Bangladesh or other international markets. RedMagic's global software policy says update timing can vary by model and region and that releases are delivered in batches. It does not provide global dates for this particular OS 12 schedule.
For owners, the useful distinction is between a phone being named on the China roadmap and its specific regional version receiving an update notification. The former does not establish the latter.
