WhatsApp Is Developing a Media Hub for iPhones
WhatsApp is working on a media hub for its iPhone app that would make it easier to find photos, videos and links received in chats. The feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.42.10.74, but it is not currently available to beta testers.
What the media hub could show
The planned hub would sit inside WhatsApp’s settings and show only media received from other people. Content sent by the user would not appear there, and disappearing media would be excluded. The interface is expected to include a New tab for recently received items and an All media tab for the complete collection.
Users could filter the collection by photos, videos or links, then switch between list and grid views. A heart filter would surface items that received a reaction. Search is also planned for photo and video captions as well as links, allowing users to locate shared content without remembering the original chat or date.
Still a development feature
Each item could offer shortcuts to forward it, add a reaction, star it or open the conversation where it was received. WhatsApp has not announced a release date, and the feature may change before any wider test or public rollout. The broader concept is not new: WhatsApp previously introduced a media hub on Mac and the web.
