Visa posts 13% fourth-quarter revenue growth as payments activity stays resilient

Visa reported stronger-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter results on Tuesday, with consumer and cross-border payment activity continuing to support growth despite concerns about a slowdown in spending.

Revenue and transaction growth

The payments network said fourth-quarter net revenue increased 13% year over year to $12.1 billion. Adjusted earnings were $3.48 per share, compared with the $3.44 average estimate from analysts surveyed by LSEG, according to Reuters. Visa’s full-year fiscal 2026 net revenue reached $45.9 billion, up 15% on a nominal basis and 14% in constant-dollar terms.

Payments volume rose 9% in constant dollars in the quarter, while processed transactions increased 10% to 74.2 billion. Cross-border volume excluding transactions within Europe, a key driver of international transaction revenue, climbed 14%; total cross-border volume also rose 14%.

Costs and outlook

Visa’s client incentives increased 21% to $5.1 billion in the quarter. The payments company said fiscal 2027 net revenue growth should be in the low double digits, with adjusted earnings growth ranging from the low double digits to the low teens. It also expects incentive growth to rise as about 25% of payment-volume contracts are renewed, compared with 20% in fiscal 2026.

Visa Chief Financial Officer Chris Suh told Reuters that slower consumer spending had not translated into weaker payment volumes. That comment describes Visa’s reported network activity and should not be read as a claim about the entire economy.

Shares were down about 1.4% in extended trading after the results, according to Reuters. Visa’s SEC-filed release reported fiscal-fourth-quarter GAAP net income of $6.0 billion, or $3.19 per share, and non-GAAP net income of $6.6 billion, or $3.48 per share.
