vivo S2 FE Arrives With a Huge 10,000mAh Battery

vivo has taken an unusual approach to the mid-range smartphone market with the launch of the vivo S2 FE, putting battery endurance at the center of the phone rather than treating it as just another specification on the sheet. Announced in India on October 6, the new S-series model combines a massive 10,000mAh battery with a 1.5K AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor and a durability-focused body.

That battery is the obvious headline, but it is not the only reason the S2 FE stands out. vivo has also equipped the phone with a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera, a 32MP front camera, IP68 and IP69 protection and MIL-STD-810H-certified durability features. The result is a phone aimed at people who want long endurance without moving to a conventional rugged-phone design.

A 10,000mAh Battery Changes the Equation

The S2 FE carries a 10,000mAh typical-capacity battery, with a rated capacity of 9,800mAh. vivo says its BlueVolt battery technology is designed to provide stable power across demanding conditions, including temperatures from -30°C to 45°C. The company also says the battery can retain at least 80 percent of its capacity after 1,400 charge cycles under its laboratory conditions.

vivo has made the battery story even more prominent by associating the phone with a Guinness World Record title for a continuous electronic-product testing livestream. According to reports, the S2 FE achieved a runtime of 32 hours and 37 minutes in the test. That is a controlled endurance demonstration rather than a guarantee of the same result in normal daily use, but it illustrates what vivo is trying to achieve with such a large battery.

Charging is handled by 44W wired fast charging, and the phone supports reverse charging. That effectively allows the S2 FE to function as a large emergency power source for compatible accessories and other devices.

1.5K AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

The battery is paired with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The panel runs at up to 120Hz and supports up to 2,000 nits of high-brightness mode, making it considerably more interesting for outdoor use than a basic mid-range screen. vivo also lists HDR10+ support, 1.07 billion colors and a 449 PPI pixel density.

The combination matters because a huge battery is most useful when the phone can actually sustain heavy screen usage. A 120Hz AMOLED panel gives the S2 FE a modern feel for scrolling, video and gaming, while the higher resolution should keep text and images noticeably sharper on the large display.

vivo has also focused on eye comfort, with SGS certifications for low blue light and low flicker. The company says the display has a 94.47 percent screen-to-body ratio, helping the large screen dominate the front of the device.

Dimensity 7300e Powers the Phone

Performance comes from MediaTek's Dimensity 7300e, a 5G-oriented mid-range chipset. vivo has paired it with a cooling system featuring a 3,800mm² vapor chamber, which the company says is 250 percent larger in cooling area than the previous generation.

vivo claims an AnTuTu score of up to 940,000, although benchmark results can vary depending on software versions, temperature, testing conditions and configuration. The phone is therefore better understood as a capable everyday and entertainment device rather than a performance flagship.

The S2 FE also supports up to 30 active background apps according to vivo's product information. For users who regularly switch between messaging, social media, browsing and productivity applications, that emphasis on background multitasking could be more useful than chasing maximum benchmark numbers.

50MP Sony Camera and 32MP Selfie Camera

The rear camera system takes a relatively straightforward approach. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor, accompanied by a 2MP bokeh camera. On the front, vivo has installed a 32MP wide-angle selfie camera with a 90-degree field of view.

There is also an AI Erase feature for removing unwanted objects or people from photographs. As with other generative or AI-assisted editing features, the results can depend on the image and the complexity of the object being removed.

The camera setup suggests that vivo is prioritizing a strong primary camera and useful selfie experience rather than trying to fill the back of the phone with several high-resolution sensors. That is a sensible approach for a device whose main identity is endurance.

Built to Survive More Than the Average Smartphone

The S2 FE is also considerably more rugged than its styling initially suggests. vivo lists IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, while the device has passed five MIL-STD environmental tests covering high temperature, low temperature, rain, sand and dust, and shock.

vivo also says the phone survived a controlled three-metre drop onto carpet during its testing. That does not make the smartphone indestructible, and the company's own conditions make clear that resistance can decrease with normal wear. Still, the combination of IP68, IP69 and military-standard testing gives the S2 FE a stronger durability proposition than most conventional mid-range phones.

This could be particularly appealing to people who spend time outdoors, travel frequently or simply want a phone that is less vulnerable to everyday accidents.

OriginOS 6 and AI Features

The vivo S2 FE runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The software includes vivo's Origin Island interface as well as AI-powered tools for tasks such as writing, rewriting, translation and image editing. Google Gemini integration is also part of the software experience.

The phone supports features such as AI Captions for real-time transcription and translation, while vivo's Office Kit can connect the smartphone with a computer for file access, screen mirroring and clipboard sharing.

Another interesting feature is AI SuperLink, which vivo says can improve low-frequency signal strength by up to 29 percent in its testing. That could be particularly useful in areas where cellular reception is inconsistent, although real-world performance will depend heavily on the network and environment.

vivo S2 FE Price and Availability

In India, the vivo S2 FE starts at ₹38,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs ₹42,999. The phone is scheduled to go on sale from October 20, 2026, in Stellar Green, Zen White and Titan Black.

There is currently no confirmed official Bangladesh price in the information available for the Indian launch. Therefore, the Indian prices should not be presented as Bangladesh retail prices. Local pricing, warranty and availability will depend on vivo's Bangladesh launch plans.

vivo S2 FE: Is the 10,000mAh Battery Worth It?

The S2 FE is an interesting example of how smartphone makers are experimenting with battery capacity without turning every large-battery phone into a bulky traditional rugged handset. At around 225 grams and 8.6mm thick, the phone remains relatively manageable considering the size of its battery.

Its strongest combination is clear: 10,000mAh battery, 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, 44W charging, Dimensity 7300e, 50MP Sony camera and IP68/IP69 durability. Few phones bring all of those characteristics together in one package.

There are compromises. The 44W charging system is not especially aggressive for a battery this large, and the Dimensity 7300e is a mid-range platform rather than a flagship chip. The camera system is also relatively simple compared with camera-focused smartphones in higher price brackets.

But those limitations make more sense when the S2 FE is viewed for what it actually is. This is an endurance-first smartphone. It is designed for users who would rather have an enormous battery and dependable durability than the fastest processor or the most elaborate camera array.

For someone who spends long hours away from a charger, watches a lot of video, uses navigation frequently or simply wants a phone that can keep going for much longer between charges, the vivo S2 FE could be one of the more compelling battery-focused phones of 2026. Its biggest selling point is not hidden in the fine print—it is the 10,000mAh battery sitting at the heart of the device.
