Your Apple Watch Will Soon Remember What You Just Heard

Apple's latest watches are about to get a better memory than you. With watchOS 27.3, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 gain Live Rewind, which can replay the last 15 seconds of speech as a transcript, and Siri Recap, which summarises your conversations through the day.

Apple seeded the first developer beta of watchOS 27.3 on November 3, alongside the first betas of iOS 27.3, macOS Golden Gate 27.3 and tvOS 27.3. The final release is expected in December.

Live Rewind: what did they just say?

Live Rewind is part of a new set of Audio Intelligence features on the watch. It creates a transcript of the last 15 seconds of speech around you, so if you miss something someone just said — a name, a time, an address — you can read it on your wrist instead of asking them to repeat it. It works on the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, the two models with the hardware to run the on-device audio processing.

Siri Recap goes further: it summarises the conversations you have had through the day, giving you a digest of what was said and what you agreed to. It is the watch equivalent of the meeting-recap tools that have become common in workplace apps — except it runs on your wrist, all day, across every conversation.

Both features are built on the new Apple Intelligence-powered Siri, which is designed to understand personal context and take action across apps. On the watch, that means the assistant can listen, transcribe and summarise without sending the audio to the cloud.

Part of a bigger watchOS update

The Audio Intelligence features arrive as part of Apple's coordinated 27.3 beta cycle, which also brings the redesigned Health app to iPhone, Live Activities to the Mac's menu bar, and Siri to 23 new languages. As with every beta, the feature set could change before the final release.
