Strava brings personalized workout insights to Google Gemini

Strava subscribers in the United States can now connect their activity history to Google Gemini for more personalized answers about training. The integration, announced on October 28, is rolling out across all Gemini plans, although a Strava subscription is still required.

Questions grounded in your workouts

Instead of scrolling through months of activities, users can ask whether they are getting faster at the same heart rate, how strength training is affecting their running, or how their effort changed mile by mile during their latest race. Strava says Gemini can draw on the user’s recorded activities to put those questions in context.

The company also lists comparisons between this year’s fastest 10K and an all-time best, current and longest running streaks, and the effect of conditions such as temperature, humidity and wind. These are examples of supported questions, not guarantees that an AI-generated answer will improve athletic performance.

The connection is optional and read-only

Strava says users choose whether to authorize the connection and can disconnect it at any time. It describes the integration as read-only, so this is a way to analyze activity information rather than give Gemini permission to change training records.

A US rollout, not a global launch

The announcement specifies availability in the United States. It does not establish a rollout date for India, Bangladesh or other markets, and the US launch should not be treated as confirmation of worldwide access.

To get started, Strava directs users to Personal Intelligence within Gemini, where they can select Strava under connected apps, sign in to their Strava account and authorize the connection. The company presents the feature as another way to explore existing activity history, following its earlier integration with Claude.
