iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 Brings Active Cooling and 165Hz AMOLED From CNY 4,299

iQOO has introduced the Pad Pro 8.8 in China, offering a less expensive route to the compact gaming-tablet hardware used by the Pad Ultra. The Pro keeps the 8.8-inch AMOLED screen, cooling fan and 9,020mAh battery, while changing the main processor and gaming chip.

Compact screen, active cooling

The display has a 2304 × 1440 resolution and supports up to 165Hz in compatible games. Quoted brightness figures are 1,600 nits across the full screen and 4,500 nits for a local peak; the higher figure is not a full-panel brightness rating.

Inside are Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and iQOO’s Q3 chip. The latter supports gaming features such as upscaling and frame interpolation in compatible titles. The Ice Dome cooling system combines a three-speed fan, dual vapor chambers and copper fins. These are announced features, not independent evidence of sustained frame rates.

Battery, software and connectivity

The 9,020mAh battery supports 66W wired charging. The metal-unibody tablet measures 5.74mm thick and weighs 298g. Other specifications include a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, dual speakers, two X-axis vibration motors, rear RGB lighting, Wi-Fi 7 and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.

It runs OriginOS 7 HD based on Android 17. Some gaming software features require a version with at least 12GB of RAM. The magnetic grip kit and Stretch Handle G1 controller are separate accessories, not included features of the base tablet price.

China prices and the Ultra trade-off

Blue and gray versions are offered. At 12GB/256GB, the Pro is listed at CNY 4,699 against CNY 6,499 for the Ultra. The Ultra uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Q4 silicon; the Pro uses Gen 5 and Q3, and tops out at 512GB rather than 1TB.

International availability remains unclear. These are China launch prices, not confirmed prices or release plans for India, the US or Bangladesh.
