Nokia 2360 Flip brings dual displays and a dedicated SOS button to a 2G feature phone
HMD has unveiled the Nokia 2360 Flip, a clamshell feature phone designed around simpler calling, larger on-screen controls and safety tools for families. It has two displays and a dedicated SOS button, but its cellular connectivity is limited to 2G.
Two screens, familiar feature-phone hardware
The phone has a 2.8-inch QVGA main display and a 1.77-inch QQVGA external screen. The outside panel can show caller information before the phone is opened. HMD lists a removable 1,450mAh battery, a QVGA rear camera with an LED flash, FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C charging.
HMD’s specifications page lists S30+ as the operating system, dual-SIM support and GSM 900/1800 bands. It also quotes up to 15 days of standby time and up to 27.5 hours of talk time. Those battery figures are manufacturer estimates. The phone weighs 121 grams and is listed in Charcoal, Burgundy Red and Teal.
SOS and remote setup are the main talking points
Holding the dedicated SOS button for three seconds simultaneously calls a pre-set number and texts up to five emergency contacts. HMD says the feature is not a substitute for public emergency services. The emergency recipients, message and other settings can be configured through the Family Assist app.
Family Assist lets another person set up and manage the handset remotely through SMS, without requiring a data plan on the Nokia phone. HMD says the manager can add contacts, set reminders, adjust the volume and configure SOS settings. Standard SMS charges may apply on the managing device.
The phone also includes a School Mode, whitelist-only calling and messaging, a Family PIN and controls for blocking selected apps. School Mode limits the handset to the clock and emergency calls, while the whitelist lets a parent or caregiver choose who the user can contact.
Pricing and network compatibility
HMD’s product page says offerings can vary and directs readers to check local availability. It does not provide a price or a confirmed release schedule in the material consulted here. Before considering an import, buyers should confirm that their operator still offers compatible 2G service on the supported GSM 900/1800 bands. A listing on HMD’s international website does not establish local launch plans.
