Samsung W27 Goes Official in China With Gold Accents and Satellite Connectivity

Samsung has unveiled the W27 in China, turning the core hardware of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra into a more luxurious W-series foldable. The official announcement follows earlier render leaks and establishes two configurations, starting at CNY 18,999.

Gold detailing and a collector’s bundle

The W27’s red and blue finishes are paired with gold-colored detailing on the frame, hinge, rear camera area and lens rings. A gold “Heart to the World” emblem appears on the back.

GSMArena lists Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection on the front and rear panels. Samsung also supplies a collector’s-edition box containing a 45W charger and a Kevlar protective case, alongside the usual accessories.

Familiar foldable hardware, with satellite connectivity

The W27 has a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.0-inch inner screen. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a 5,000mAh battery and a triple rear camera system led by a 200MP main sensor.

Its software is Android 17 with One UI 9. GSMArena identifies satellite connectivity as an addition to the underlying Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra hardware, but the report does not establish service availability outside China.

Two China configurations and prices

• 16GB RAM and 512GB storage: CNY 18,999.
• 16GB RAM and 1TB storage: CNY 21,999.

According to the October 29 report, the W27 is available through Samsung’s official online store in China. These are Chinese-market configurations and prices, not an announcement of international sales.
