Samsung’s Android XR Glasses Reportedly Target December Sales in Korea and the US

Samsung’s Android XR intelligent eyewear could reach buyers before the end of 2026, but its first retail rollout may be limited to two markets. A South Korean report cited by GSMArena places the start of actual sales in mid-December, with South Korea and the United States expected to receive the glasses first.

The report concerns retail timing, rather than a first public unveiling. Samsung and Google previewed the eyewear in May, and Samsung introduced the designs and more product details at Galaxy Unpacked in July.

A limited initial rollout

Europe, China and Japan are reportedly excluded from the initial release while Samsung gauges demand in the two launch markets. That is a reported distribution plan, not a confirmed country list from Samsung. No retail availability information for India or Bangladesh has been announced in the sources reviewed.

The latest sales report follows earlier reporting that pointed to a November release. Pricing was still undecided in the new report, and Samsung has not supplied a firm public sales date or final retail price in the consulted announcements. Mid-December should therefore be treated as a reported target, not a guaranteed release day.

Samsung has already shown the product

The eyewear was developed with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker and is designed to work with a compatible Galaxy phone. It is a different form factor from Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset, even though both belong to the broader Android XR platform.

Samsung’s July announcement describes a Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform, a built-in camera and Gemini assistance. The company outlines voice interactions, navigation help, summarized messages, translation and hands-free photo capture among the intended uses. Availability of individual features can vary with the connected device, service, language, network and region.

Samsung also claims up to nine hours of battery life on one charge, with up to seven additional full charges from the case. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results, and the company notes that battery life depends on settings, apps and other conditions.

What remains unconfirmed

The official product information establishes that the glasses are more than an unannounced concept, but it does not turn a reported sales schedule into a confirmed one. Final pricing, a firm retail date and a complete market-by-market rollout still need public confirmation. Buyers outside the reported first markets should not assume that a Korean or US release means immediate worldwide availability.
