PS5 Prism Collection Brings Transparent Controllers and Covers in Three Colors

Sony is bringing a see-through finish to the PS5 with its Prism Collection of DualSense wireless controllers and matching console covers. The accessories come in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray, with pre-orders beginning November 10, 2026 and the rollout starting February 4, 2027.

A transparent look inspired by late-1990s hardware

The collection combines glossy clear surfaces with color-matched detailing. Sony’s design team says the transparent finish extends across the controller’s back, giving players a closer look at the technology inside. The console covers also expose part of the console’s internal design.

The announcement is about a new visual treatment for PS5 accessories. It does not introduce a new PlayStation console generation.

Prism Collection controller and cover prices

Sony lists the DualSense controllers at recommended prices of $84.99 in the US, €84.99 in Europe and £74.99 in the UK. Matching console covers are listed at $74.99, €74.99 and £64.99, respectively. Actual retailer prices and availability may differ.

The controllers are planned for global availability. The covers will be sold directly by PlayStation in supported markets, with limited quantities through selected retailers in other regions.

Pre-orders open in November; launch begins in February

US customers ordering directly from PlayStation can pre-order from 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern on November 10. Sony lists 10am local-time openings for its participating European direct-store markets.

February 4, 2027 is the start of the launch, not a guarantee of the same release date or stock in every country. Sony explicitly says timing and availability can vary by region.

The announcement does not clearly confirm compatibility across every PS5 revision. Buyers should check the specific console-cover listing for their model rather than assume one set fits every PS5.
