Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition Arrives September 21 With a Phone Box Straight Out of Hogwarts
Realme has confirmed that the special Harry Potter Edition of the Realme 16 Pro will launch in India on September 21. Developed with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the limited-edition phone combines a Hogwarts-inspired design with a collector-style gift box packed with Harry Potter-themed accessories.
Realme Is Bringing Hogwarts to Your Pocket
Realme is turning its latest smartphone into something that looks like it came straight from the Wizarding World. The company has officially confirmed that the Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition will launch in India on September 21, 2026, at 12pm IST. Rather than simply putting a Harry Potter logo on the back of an existing phone, Realme has redesigned the exterior and packaging around the Hogwarts theme, making this more of a collector-focused product than a conventional new smartphone. The launch is being developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
The Design Is Where the Magic Happens
The phone gets a brown rear panel with a leather-like texture and an argyle pattern inspired by the Wizard's Chess scene. A large Hogwarts crest sits at the centre, while the camera decoration takes inspiration from Hedwig, Harry Potter's owl. Realme has also added a laser-engraved “Welcome to Hogwarts” detail to the metallic frame, giving the phone several small touches that are clearly aimed at fans rather than ordinary smartphone buyers.
And then there is the packaging. Realme is preparing a Hogwarts-themed gifting box designed as a 1:1 replica of Harry Potter's iconic trunk, with only 5,000 units planned globally. Inside are Harry Potter-inspired collectibles including a Hogwarts acceptance letter, train ticket, house-crested bookmarks, character postcards, a Hogwarts-themed phone case and a custom phone pin. It is the kind of packaging that is arguably almost as important to a collector as the phone itself.
Don't Expect a Completely New Phone Underneath
The Harry Potter Edition is primarily a design and collector-focused version of the existing Realme 16 Pro, rather than a major hardware upgrade. Reports indicate that it will retain the core specifications of the standard model: a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max processor, a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, a 200MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP front camera.
That distinction matters because the real reason to buy this version isn't necessarily performance. Someone looking purely for specifications may find the standard Realme 16 Pro more interesting, while Harry Potter fans are being offered something completely different: a phone designed to feel like merchandise from the franchise. Realme has used this strategy before, including its Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition, and the Harry Potter collaboration takes the idea even further.
Price Is Still the Big Mystery
Realme has confirmed the September 21 launch, but the company has not yet revealed the official price of the Harry Potter Edition. That means the launch event will be important not only for availability but also for finding out how much of a premium Realme will charge for the special design and collector's box. The standard Realme 16 Pro's pricing has changed since its original launch, so using its earlier price as a direct prediction for the Harry Potter Edition would be unreliable.
There is also a practical question for fans outside India. The September 21 announcement is specifically an India launch, and international availability has not been confirmed. Realme has also announced a Harry Potter-themed version of its Buds T500 Pro for the same date, suggesting that the company is treating this as a broader Harry Potter product campaign rather than a one-off phone release.
Realme Is Turning Smartphones Into Collectibles
The interesting part of this launch isn't just Harry Potter. Smartphone hardware has become increasingly difficult to differentiate, with many phones competing around similar displays, cameras, processors and battery sizes. Limited editions give manufacturers another way to make a familiar device feel special. Instead of asking buyers to upgrade because the processor is faster, brands can appeal to something much more personal: fandom.
Realme is taking that idea seriously with the 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition. The Hogwarts crest, Hedwig-inspired camera design, “Welcome to Hogwarts” engraving and trunk-shaped box all work together to create an experience that begins before the phone is even switched on. For a Harry Potter fan, that's probably the point.
September 21 Is the Day to Watch
The Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition will officially step out of the castle on September 21 in India. Until then, the price and final sales details remain the missing pieces of the story. What we already know, however, is enough to show that Realme isn't treating this as a simple colour variant.
It is a smartphone designed for people who grew up with Hogwarts, recognise the significance of the Wizard's Chess-inspired pattern and might actually want to keep the box instead of throwing it away. Underneath all that Harry Potter nostalgia is still a Realme 16 Pro, but on the outside, Realme is clearly trying to make this one feel like something you'd find waiting for you in the mail with a Hogwarts acceptance letter inside.
