Evercade Nexus Handheld Launches With Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack

Blaze Entertainment has released the Evercade Nexus, a new handheld built around the company’s physical cartridge library. The launch model arrives with the BANJO-KAZOOIE Double Pack in the box, giving buyers Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie on one physical Evercade cartridge.

A larger Evercade handheld

The Nexus uses a 5.89-inch IPS display with 840×512 resolution and brightness rated above 500 nits. It is the largest screen in an Evercade handheld so far. The black console measures 215×111×34mm and weighs 410 grams, according to Blaze’s published specifications.

The larger body adds dual analog sticks alongside the D-pad, face buttons, bumpers and triggers. Blaze positions the controls for 32-bit and 64-bit games, while a textured rear grip is intended to make longer handheld sessions more comfortable. The system also retains TATE mode for games designed around a vertical screen.

Wireless features and the included cartridge

Wi-Fi 6 supports console updates, while wireless headphone support joins front-facing stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A customizable RGB light-up logo can be adjusted through the system menus. Battery capacity is listed at 5,000mAh, with more than five hours of rated battery life.

EverSync is the Nexus’s notable multiplayer addition. It connects two Evercade Nexus consoles directly for local multiplayer, without requiring an internet connection or Wi-Fi network. Blaze says one player can share a cartridge with the second console, although another Nexus is required.

The included Banjo-Kazooie cartridge contains Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. The press material also notes widescreen support, an updated camera and twin-stick support for the Evercade versions.

Two editions

The standard Evercade Nexus is listed at £169.99, $199.99 and €199.99. Blaze also offered a Nexus 64 Edition through Funstock, limited to 2,000 units, with a different color scheme and additional case, screen protector, poster and numbered certificate. Evercade’s product page now marks that limited edition as sold out.

The Nexus supports the existing Evercade cartridge ecosystem. It does not provide HDMI or wireless TV output, so it remains a handheld-first system rather than a replacement for Evercade’s TV-focused consoles.
