Oppo's Next Phone Could Pack a Huge 12,000mAh Battery, Certification Suggests

Oppo could be gearing up to launch a smartphone with a massive 12,000mAh battery. An upcoming Oppo device with that large-capacity cell has reportedly received certification from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, known as MIIT.

The report is a rumour, and Oppo has confirmed nothing about the phone. Its name, series, launch timing, price and other specifications are not confirmed, and even the 12,000mAh figure needs careful reading.

What the certification shows

The model number is PNC110, and it has received MIIT approval in China. The MIIT listing itself does not explicitly mention 12,000mAh. Its metadata reveals an 11,460mAh cell, which could be marketed as 12,000mAh.

No other details are in the listing apart from dual-SIM 5G support. The certification also identifies the equipment as a 5G digital mobile phone, the applicant and manufacturer as OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd., and the equipment origin as Chongqing.

Which phone could it be

The phone's name is not given. The device could be part of Oppo's A-series, noting that Oppo recently launched the A7 Pro Max with a 10,000mAh battery. That is only a possibility, and further details will be needed before the phone's identity is clear.

A 12,000mAh battery would be far larger than the batteries in most mainstream phones, including Oppo's own recent 8,000mAh and 10,000mAh models. Until Oppo confirms the device, the certification listing is the only evidence for it.
