OPPO K15s and K15x Arrive in China With Huge Batteries and Tougher Builds
OPPO has expanded its K15 lineup in China with the new K15s and K15x, two mid-range smartphones built around long battery life, 120Hz displays and durability. The K15s stands out with an 8,000mAh battery, AMOLED display and IP69K protection, while the K15x offers a larger 6.75-inch 120Hz LCD panel and a lower starting price.
OPPO K15s and K15x Bring Big Batteries to the K15 Series
OPPO has quietly added two more phones to its K15 family in China, and the new OPPO K15s and OPPO K15x are taking a familiar mid-range formula in two different directions. Both phones put a noticeable emphasis on battery life and durability, but the K15s is clearly the more ambitious model, while the K15x is aimed at buyers who want a larger screen and lower price.
The K15s arrives with an 8,000mAh battery, 6.57-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 6360 MAX chipset and 50MP camera. The K15x steps down to a 6,500mAh battery, a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel and Dimensity 6300 processor, but its lower price makes it an interesting alternative for users who care more about screen size and endurance than display sharpness or camera hardware.
There is another interesting part of the story. Although both phones are new additions to the K15 family, much of their hardware will look familiar to people who follow OPPO's lineup. That makes these launches less about introducing entirely new technology and more about giving existing hardware a different combination of price, battery capacity and durability features.
OPPO K15s: The More Complete Package
The OPPO K15s is the stronger of the two phones and has the specification sheet to prove it. Its 6.57-inch flexible AMOLED display runs at up to 120Hz and offers a 2372 × 1080 resolution. OPPO lists up to 1,400 nits of global peak brightness, a 240Hz touch sampling rate and up to 1,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling. The panel also supports 10-bit color and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
That combination gives the K15s a meaningful advantage over the K15x. Both phones advertise a 120Hz refresh rate, but the experience is not identical. The K15s has the sharper FHD+ AMOLED panel, while the cheaper K15x uses a lower-resolution LCD screen.
Underneath the display is MediaTek's Dimensity 6360 MAX, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. OPPO's Chinese store lists 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB configurations. There is also a 4,300mm² VC cooling system designed to help manage heat during heavier workloads.
An 8,000mAh Battery Is the K15s' Biggest Attraction
Battery life is where the K15s becomes particularly interesting.
OPPO has fitted the phone with an 8,000mAh battery, rated at 7,820mAh. That is considerably larger than the batteries found in many conventional mid-range smartphones. The phone supports 45W SuperVOOC charging, along with 45W UFCS charging.
OPPO also says the battery has been tested for more than 2,000 charge cycles, with the company's laboratory testing targeting at least 80% capacity retention after the specified cycle testing. These figures are laboratory claims rather than a guarantee of how every individual phone will perform over several years, but they underline the company's focus on long-term battery endurance.
The combination is fairly straightforward: the K15s is designed for people who would rather have a phone that can keep going for a long time than chase the thinnest possible body.
OPPO K15x Chooses a Bigger Screen and Lower Price
The OPPO K15x takes a different approach. Its display is larger at 6.75 inches, but it uses an HD+ 1570 × 720 LCD panel rather than the K15s' FHD+ AMOLED screen. It still supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling.
That difference matters. A 6.75-inch screen is useful for video, browsing and general content consumption, but the lower resolution is an obvious compromise compared with the K15s. Buyers therefore have a fairly clear choice: the K15s offers the better display, while the K15x offers more physical screen area at a lower price.
The K15x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. OPPO's official Chinese listing shows 6GB + 128GB and 6GB + 256GB configurations, with support for expandable storage.
The Camera Difference Is Hard to Ignore
OPPO has also separated the two phones quite clearly in the camera department.
The K15s features a 50MP autofocus main camera with an f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera. The rear camera can record 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second and supports stabilized 1080p and 720p recording.
The K15x uses a much simpler 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It can also record 1080p video at up to 60fps from the rear camera.
For buyers who regularly take photos, the K15s is therefore the obvious choice between the two. The megapixel difference alone does not determine image quality, but the overall camera hardware clearly places the K15s above the K15x.
Durability Is a Major Part of the K15s Identity
OPPO is not selling the K15s purely as a battery phone. Its durability specifications are another major part of the package.
The K15s carries IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 protection ratings according to OPPO's published specifications and launch materials. It also uses what the company describes as a diamond anti-drop architecture and has undergone 15 military-standard environmental tests.
The K15x is less heavily protected, carrying an IP64 rating. It nevertheless keeps the anti-drop construction and adds touch support designed to work with wet or oily fingers and while wearing gloves.
As always, IP ratings describe controlled testing conditions rather than making a phone indestructible. They should not be interpreted as permission to deliberately expose the devices to water or extreme conditions.
Useful Extras Separate the Two Phones
The K15s gets several everyday features that the K15x does not. It includes NFC, an infrared remote-control function and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. It also supports dual SIM and a range of Bluetooth audio standards.
The K15x takes a simpler approach. It does not have NFC, but it retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and uses a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor.
These may look like small differences on a specification sheet, but they can have a bigger effect on daily use than some benchmark numbers. Someone who frequently uses NFC payments or transport cards may prefer the K15s, while someone who still uses wired headphones could find the K15x more convenient.
OPPO K15s and K15x Price in China
The official Chinese pricing structure puts the two phones into noticeably different positions.
The OPPO K15s has a regular price of CNY 1,999 for the 6GB + 128GB version, while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at CNY 2,299. OPPO's current store listing shows a limited-time price of CNY 1,699 for the entry model.
The OPPO K15x starts at CNY 1,699 for 6GB + 128GB and reaches CNY 1,999 for 6GB + 256GB. Its current limited-time price starts at CNY 1,399.
The promotional prices are part of a launch-period discount and should not be confused with the standard retail prices. The current promotion in China is listed through October 31, 2026.
No official international launch or Bangladesh pricing has been confirmed for either phone at the time of writing, so Chinese pricing should not be used as a direct prediction of a future Bangladesh retail price.
OPPO K15s vs K15x: Which One Makes More Sense?
On paper, the K15s is the more complete smartphone. It gives buyers a substantially better display, larger battery, stronger camera setup, more advanced water and dust protection, NFC and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is also available with more RAM in its higher configuration.
The K15x, however, has a legitimate reason to exist. Its 6.75-inch display is larger, its battery is still substantial at 6,500mAh, and its starting promotional price is considerably lower. For someone who mainly wants a large screen, long battery life and basic everyday performance, spending extra on the K15s may not be necessary.
The interesting part is that neither phone is trying to win the mid-range market through raw performance. OPPO is leaning heavily into battery endurance, durability and practical everyday features. That is a different strategy from simply putting the fastest available chip into a phone and calling it a performance device.
Our Take on the OPPO K15s and K15x
The OPPO K15s is the more compelling phone of the pair. Its 8,000mAh battery, AMOLED display, 50MP camera and extensive protection make the specification package unusually focused for a mid-range device. The Dimensity 6360 MAX is not positioned as a flagship processor, but it does not need to be for the audience OPPO appears to be targeting.
The K15x is more difficult to get excited about, but its purpose is clear. The larger display and 6,500mAh battery are useful, and the lower price makes the compromises easier to understand. The HD+ LCD panel and basic camera system are its biggest weaknesses.
There is also a broader point here: the two phones show how much room manufacturers still have to differentiate mid-range smartphones through battery size and durability. Instead of competing only on processor speed or camera megapixels, OPPO is betting that some buyers simply want a phone that lasts longer, survives everyday knocks and does not need to visit a charger constantly.
For buyers in China, the K15s is the model worth considering if display quality, battery capacity, cameras and durability are priorities. The K15x makes more sense for a tighter budget, particularly for users who value a larger screen and long battery life over higher-resolution visuals and better cameras.
