Oppo Find X10 Pro Max leads, but price is a barrier

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max attracted stronger backing than the standard Find X10 in GSMArena’s November 1 reader-poll results. Yet enthusiasm did not translate into the same willingness to pay, with both handsets facing resistance to their prices.

GSMArena says only around a quarter of the Pro Max’s fans were willing to buy at its launch price. For the standard Find X10, around one in five fans were prepared to pay the current asking price. Those proportions refer to each model’s fans in the publication’s discussion, not to all smartphone buyers.

The Pro Max poll also showed interest in alternatives: around 10% of voters wanted to wait for an Ultra model, while twice as many were looking at flagships from other brands.

The standard Find X10’s lower price was not enough to win over many respondents. GSMArena describes greater interest in moving to the Pro Max or choosing a rival flagship. It also notes that the older Find X9 Ultra might be available at roughly the same price as the standard X10, complicating the newer phone’s value proposition.

The result is a distinction between liking a phone and accepting its price. The Pro Max was the stronger of Oppo’s two contenders in this poll, but its launch cost still filtered out many interested readers; the cheaper model did not escape that problem.

These reader responses are not a sales forecast, and they do not establish when discounts will arrive or how large any future reduction might be.
