Super Micro expects first-quarter revenue above estimates
Super Micro Computer expects first-quarter revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, compared with analysts’ average estimate of $15.23 billion, according to a Reuters report. The server maker said the outlook was being supported by strong demand for artificial-intelligence data centres.
The new range is above Super Micro’s previous forecast of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion. The company also raised its expected gross-margin range to 12% to 12.5%, from 10.4% to 10.8% previously, and above the 10.15% analyst estimate cited by Reuters.
The forecast came as large technology companies continue to increase spending on AI infrastructure. Super Micro’s shares rose 11.3% in after-hours trading following the update, while Dell, HPE and Nvidia also gained.
The revenue and margin figures are company forecasts rather than reported quarterly results. Reuters said the margin outlook primarily reflected customer and product mix.
