Straight Talk adds more data and 5G benefits without raising unlimited-plan prices
Verizon-owned prepaid brand Straight Talk is expanding the benefits of its Silver, Gold and Platinum Unlimited plans while keeping their advertised monthly base prices unchanged. The refreshed offers are available in the United States through Walmart, Walmart.com and StraightTalk.com.
More hotspot data across the lineup
Silver Unlimited remains $45 per month, a base price Straight Talk says it has maintained since 2009. It now includes 5G Ultra Wideband access, 15GB of hotspot data—50% more than before—and unlimited international talk and text to Canada, Mexico, India and China.
Gold Unlimited stays at $55 per month and adds 5G Ultra Wideband access plus 50GB of hotspot data, a 66% increase. The plan also includes unlimited international talk and text to more than 200 destinations and 10GB of roaming data in Canada and Mexico. Walmart+ and 100GB of cloud storage remain included.
At $65 per month, Platinum Unlimited combines 5G Ultra Wideband access with unlimited premium data and hotspot use. It also includes international talk and text to more than 200 destinations, 10GB of Canada-and-Mexico roaming data, Walmart+, 500GB of cloud storage and $10-per-month tablet service at no extra cost when customers bring their own tablet.
Home Internet discount has separate conditions
Customers on any of the three plans can add Straight Talk Home Internet for a $35 monthly base price, down from the standard $45 when bundled. That is a bundle saving, not a reduction to the wireless plan prices. Taxes, fees, network availability and plan eligibility may affect the final bill. These are US offerings; the references to India, China, Canada and Mexico describe international calling, texting or roaming benefits, not local plan availability in those countries.
