Salesforce Agrees to Acquire Braze for $5.66 Billion
Salesforce announced on October 20 that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Braze in a deal valued at about $5.66 billion. Braze shareholders would receive $47.50 per share in cash.
Approvals and closing timeline
The transaction is expected to close in Salesforce fiscal 2028, subject to approval by Braze shareholders and applicable regulatory approvals. It remains an agreement to acquire the company, not a completed purchase.
Customer engagement meets AI
Salesforce said the combination would bring Braze’s real-time customer engagement and AI decisioning capabilities together with Marketing Cloud, Data 360, Customer 360, Agentforce and SIForce.
The proposed combination would connect customer data and real-time interactions with Salesforce’s broader software portfolio. Those anticipated benefits are the company’s strategic expectations, rather than results already delivered by the deal.
