Redmi K100 China Launch Set for October 27 as Dual-Chip Gaming Details Emerge
Redmi has scheduled the K100's China launch for October 27 at 7 p.m., according to its official Weibo announcement. That primary-source date differs from the October 26 and October 28 dates given in GSMArena's camera and launch reports.
The company's October 19 teasers also detail a gaming-focused hardware combination: Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and Redmi's dedicated D2 display chip. Redmi describes this as the first standard K-series model to receive its independent gaming-display chip.
165Hz screen and more than 40 supported games
Redmi's display announcement specifies a 6.83-inch screen, a 165Hz refresh rate and brightness rated at up to 3,500 nits. The company also says more than 40 games will offer native 165fps modes. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent gaming-performance measurements.
Software and an accompanying accessory
GSMArena additionally reports that the phone will ship with HyperOS 4 and that Redmi plans to introduce Clip Neo open-ear earphones alongside it. The previously disclosed 10,000mAh battery remains another major part of the K100's appeal. China pre-orders are already open, but international pricing and release plans have not been confirmed.
