Oppo’s Wide-Screen Phone Is Tipped to Pack an 8,000mAh Battery

Oppo may be preparing an unusually wide smartphone, but the company has not announced the device. A new leak attributed to tipster Digital Chat Station claims the engineering model can use a battery rated at up to 8,000mAh.

What the leak claims

The same report points to MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M chipset and a triple-camera rear system containing two 200-megapixel sensors. The sensors are identified as Samsung’s ISOCELL HPE and HP5, although the leak does not clearly assign each sensor to a specific camera. Earlier reporting described one of the high-resolution units as a periscope telephoto camera, alongside a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.

The rumored phone is said to have a 6.35-inch flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio. Other reports have associated the project with the name "Reno X", but that name remains unconfirmed.

Nothing is official yet

The 8,000mAh figure replaces an earlier 7,000mAh claim from the same tipster. That change underlines how early the information is. The specifications reportedly come from an engineering sample, so Oppo could alter the hardware before any announcement. Oppo has not confirmed the phone, its final name, specifications, price or launch timing.
