Meta Muse Reaches 10 Million U.S. Downloads in 40 Days

Meta’s AI companion Muse recorded an estimated 10.9 million downloads in its first 40 days, including 10.2 million in the United States, according to Sensor Tower data reported by TechCrunch on October 20.

A fast start for the app

Sensor Tower said only 11 other apps had reached 10 million U.S. downloads within their first 40 days. The estimate puts Muse among a small group of rapid app launches, but it measures installs rather than ongoing usage.

Downloads and active users are different

Muse’s daily active users reached 2.5 million on October 16. That is a separate engagement metric and should not be substituted for the total download count.

The distinction is important when assessing a new AI app: initial downloads show reach, while active use offers another view of whether people continue opening the service after trying it.

The figures are third-party analytics estimates, not an audited count of unique customers or paying subscribers.
