iQOO 16R Reportedly Clears Indonesia’s TKDN Certification as I2606

The iQOO 16R has taken another step towards a possible release, with model I2606 appearing in reports of Indonesia’s TKDN certification database. The record is described as carrying iQOO branding and support for 5G.

GSMArena links the identifier to the 16R name previously seen in IMEI database reporting. Android Treasure says the TKDN entry is registered under PT Vivo Mobile Indonesia and lists a local-content value of 35.80%.

What the certification does—and does not—show

The reported listing provides evidence of regulatory preparation in Indonesia. It does not establish the phone’s retail price, release day, camera system or complete specification sheet.

It is also safer to describe this as a TKDN appearance than an unquestioned first certification: Android Treasure reports an earlier EEC entry under the same model number. Different reports are counting the certification trail differently.

The Z12 Turbo connection remains an expectation

The 16R is rumored to be related to the upcoming China-market iQOO Z12 Turbo, following the connection between the earlier 15R and Z11 Turbo. That pattern is context, not confirmation that the next phones will share every component.

Leaks point to a 6.59-inch high-refresh-rate screen, a next-generation Snapdragon chipset and possible active cooling. A battery near 10,000mAh has also been discussed in prototype reporting. None of those details is established by the TKDN information described here.

No confirmed launch date yet

Early 2027 is an expectation based on the previous generation’s launch sequence, not an official iQOO date. The Indonesian certification report does not establish when the 16R will be sold in India, the US, China or Bangladesh.

The useful takeaway is narrower: a model associated with the 16R is progressing through certification, while the specifications and regional sales plans still need an official announcement.
