Huawei Mate X8 Specs Leak Points to Larger Displays and a 6,000mAh Battery

Huawei’s next book-style foldable may bring a series of hardware changes over the Mate X7, according to a report based on a new rumor from China. The alleged specifications have not been confirmed by Huawei, so they should be treated as early information rather than a final product sheet.

What the leaked specifications suggest

The Huawei Mate X8 is reportedly being designed with a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8.15-inch inner folding screen. That would make both panels slightly larger than those described for its predecessor. The report also claims a 50-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.28-inch-type sensor with variable aperture, alongside a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Battery capacity is said to be at least 6,000mAh. The handset may use either the Kirin 9050 or Kirin 9050 Pro, with the chipset varying by version. Another reported option is a Privacy Display feature similar in concept to the feature introduced on Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra. It remains unclear whether that privacy mode would cover both Mate X8 screens or only one.

Launch details remain unconfirmed

The report suggests Huawei could make the Mate X8 official in the coming month, but it does not provide a firm calendar date. Huawei has not confirmed the phone’s specifications, variants or launch timing. More details, including regional availability and pricing, remain unknown.
