Creotech plans tenfold satellite capacity increase while warning of US launch reliance

Creotech plans a factory by 2029 capable of 40 mixed-type satellites a year, or up to 100 of one model, versus about 10 at its current plant. CEO Grzegorz Brona told Reuters that Europe could build satellites yet lack launch capacity.

Creotech does not build rockets. SpaceX carried all four satellites it built for Poland’s MikroGlob military programme. Brona said European launch programmes may take a decade to reach sufficient scale.

The plan reflects demand for European constellations and a strategic bottleneck: manufacturing sovereignty does not guarantee access to orbit.

Creotech’s own site confirms its role in Mikroglob and mission integration; the output target and launch warning come from Brona’s Reuters interview and remain forward plans.

Brona said the company also aims to build 500-kilogram satellites by 2032 and open subsidiaries in France and Germany, linking factory growth to a wider European industrial footprint.
