Apple deepens US supplier network for iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro

Apple is widening its American Manufacturing Program (AMP) around its latest iPhone lineup, pairing a new titanium commitment with expanded camera-component production in the United States. The move gives the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro a larger domestic manufacturing footprint, while Apple says nearly 100 components across the two models are produced by American companies.

Titanium and camera parts move closer to home

Apple will commit up to $100 million over three years to Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania-based titanium producer. At its Houston, Pennsylvania, site, the company melts, forges and rolls grade 5 titanium with at least 80% recycled content for the iPhone Duo, which Apple describes as its first foldable iPhone.

Apple is also expanding its partnership with Delaware-headquartered Qnity Electronics. Qnity will make advanced films used by the iPhone 18 Pro's variable-aperture camera system. Apple says the technology supports light and depth control in the 48MP Fusion Main camera.

A broader US production footprint

The announcement puts the two new deals alongside a wider supplier build-out. Broadcom is modernizing its Fort Collins, Colorado, operation under a $1.5 billion investment and a multiyear agreement expected to produce more than 15 billion US-made chips. Corning's Kentucky facility is scheduled to produce all cover glass for iPhone and Apple Watch units sold worldwide by the end of 2026.

Apple also cites Coherent's laser technology from Texas, more than 100 million Apple chips planned from TSMC's Arizona fab in 2026, and Amkor's packaging facility under construction in Arizona. Apple says its US supplier network spans all 50 states and supports more than 450,000 jobs, within a broader $600 billion, four-year US manufacturing commitment. Direct suppliers must use renewable energy for Apple production by the end of the decade.
