Pathos AI partners with Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus on drug development
Pathos AI said it has entered a collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI to develop artificial-intelligence tools for drug development in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions.
Under the arrangements, Tempus will build a de-identified dataset from hundreds of thousands of patients with neurological conditions. Pathos said it will license the dataset from Tempus under a five-year, $55 million agreement.
Data and AI platform to support research
Pathos said its Foundry platform will analyze the dataset at scale, generate and test hypotheses about disease biology, and inform the design of more targeted, adaptive clinical trials. The companies said the work is intended to improve understanding of disease progression and support development of potential therapies.
Bristol Myers Squibb will receive non-exclusive strategic access to Pathos Foundry across its broader portfolio, according to Pathos. The drugmaker will also have three-year exclusive rights to use the platform for its neuroscience development programs.
Financing values company at about $3 billion
Pathos separately announced a $237 million Series E financing led by Bristol Myers Squibb, with participation from existing investors. Reuters reported that the round valued the New York-based company at about $3 billion. Pathos said proceeds will help scale Foundry and advance its pipeline, including the experimental cancer drug JSKN016.
